He Became Sin Who Knew No Sin is a powerful piece that depicts the juxtaposition between glory and wrath. We see Immanuel, God incarnate, condescended into humanity, bearing the pain of the Father’s wrath through the blood shed by the thorns on His head and the flesh torn from His body. With each stroke, we feel every drop of wrath that was rightfully ours—taken on by Jesus.
Yet within that suffering, we see the hope of glory: in Him, made possible by Him, and only attainable through Him. In the quiet strength of Christ looking down in reverence to the Father, the viewer is drawn into this solemn and sacred moment.
