Beneath His Shadow is a provocative piece that captures the sorrow-filled moment of Christ’s death. It portrays the day when darkness believed it had won—its scheme fulfilled, the Messiah slain, and His followers left in despair.

The emotional depth of this work, etched in charcoal, draws the viewer into contemplation of just how powerful and righteous Jesus truly was. Being God, He did not count equality with God as something to be grasped, but humbled Himself to the point of death—even death on a cross.
