Driving to My First NYC Solo Show - Mad Charcoal at Krause Gallery
Share
Right now, I’m driving across the country with a car packed to the roof with charcoal, oil paint, brushes, paper, and everything in between. Because something big is happening:
My first solo art show in New York City opens Friday, June 14 at Krause Gallery.
It’s the kind of show I’ve dreamed about, loud, intimate, and honest. A full introduction to who I am as an artist.
The Show
This isn’t just a gallery wall full of portraits.
This is a full-body dive into the world I’ve been building, one piece at a time, for the last few years.
You’ll see:
-
Charcoal portraiture with grit and ghost faces that feel more like memories than photos.
-
Abstract realism work that walks the line between form and feeling.
-
Spiritual symbolism woven into the marks.
There’s tension, reverence, and raw vulnerability in every piece.
Some of these works were made in silence, in solitude. Others were built live under cameras, in front of millions. But they all lead here: to a brick-and-mortar moment in one of the most important art cities in the world.

Why It Matters
This is my first time showing solo in New York and I’m not walking in quietly. The show is bold, messy, reverent. It blends everything I’ve explored:
-
Modern charcoal techniques on oversized paper
-
Expressive realism with religious undertones
-
Large-scale oil works layered, scarred, and alive
If you’ve followed my work online, this is the most complete, unfiltered version of it you’ll see in one space.

One Last Thing
This show isn’t about “making it.”
It’s about making something that matters.
And showing up in the real world to stand behind it.
If you’re in New York or close enough to get there I’d love to meet you. Come see the work in person. Come shake my hand. Come witness the next chapter.
Can’t wait to show you the full vision.
